Melbourne, Florida is considering an ordinance that will raise the allowable noise.
September 21, 2010
The city of Melbourne is considering an ordinance that will raise the allowable noise level by five decibels. This would bring the noise level up to 70 decibels, about the sound of a noisy restaurant. And that's just the point. The move would help more restaurants move to the area and give it more of a night-life, which is always important for a Main Street. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants in town and many may have already been breaking the current noise ordinance. But the move would let restaurants know they are welcome in downtown Melbourne.
